Welcome to the Den of the Vespa

The Vespa scooter is more than a way to get from place to place - it is an all-time classic. It is a design icon that is still being manufactured today in its classic form. It is a vehicle that has been continuously made in one incarnation or another for over 60 years, and with over ten million sold, it is one of the most popular vehicles ever made.

This site is meant to be a comprehensive destination providing a wealth of information about the classic Vespa scooter. From those who are just beginning their search for a scooter, to the advanced restoration mechanic, you should be able to find something of interest on Scooterlounge.

There are a lot of changes happening here at Scooterlounge.com, and I hope that you like them as much as I do. It is hard for me to believe that this site has been on the web for over ten years now. During that time, the standard for internet design has changed quite a bit. It seemed like it was high time to do a total re-design of the site. I have a large amount of material which is destined for these pages, and I'll be loading it up as I get time. Keep checking back for new content, I hope to have the time to update the site at least once a week.

2.20.08 - We have been working on making the pictures for the brochure archives render better using a flash-based viewer. That process took awhile, but is now complete for both the Vespa and Lambretta Brochure Archives.

12.19.07 - Reorganized the Tech main page to accommodate upcoming additions.CHECK IT

12.5.07 - We have added a new Tech Article about how to replace a front shock on most Vespa models. CHECK IT We also made some minor additions to various Lambretta Buyers Guide pages. Also, fixed Paul's gallery page and added a photo. CHECK IT

11.24.07 - We have posted our first Tech Article about how to rebuild a front shock for a Vespa GS 160 MkII. CHECK IT

11.20.07 - We have completed our migration to our new servers so you should see some new activity around here. We have also added the 'Tech Articles' item to the nav bar so please look forward to some new articles!

8.24.07 - Added a 1963 Lambretta Accessories brochure.CHECK IT Also added a huge 1960 Vespa accessories catalogue as well as a smaller 1959 Vespa accessories catalog. CHECK IT

8.06.07 - Added a large Vespa brochure for the full 1973 model year lineup. Cleaned up some coding on the Vespa brochures main page so it looks cleaner. CHECK IT

7.29.07 - Added three other brochures to the Lambretta Brochures page; a large Series II accessories brochure, a LD 150, and a LI 125/150 brochure.CHECK IT

6.7.07 - Uploaded images for ten new Vespa brochures and created pages for them. Added links to the new brochures on the Vespa Brochures page and generally fixed that page to make it work right. CHECK IT

6.6.07 - Uploaded images for four new Vespa brochures and created pages for them. Added links to the new brochures on the Vespa Brochures page. CHECK IT Left some copies of duplicate brochures on the page as placeholders.

6.5.07 - Uploaded images for five new Vespa brochures and started creating pages for them. Added links to the new brochures on the Vespa Brochures page. CHECK IT Still debugging lightgalleries for the brochures.

6.2.07 - Created ImageGallery for new Lambretta Brochure page and added 4 brochures- CHECK IT. Added links to all images on entry page to make entry easier for people that just click on stuff.

5.30.07 - Updated pages for Asian restorations. Wrote new pages for Lambretta TV and LI Series I. Cleaned up several sets of images in the Vespa Brochure page.

5.29.07 - Created ImageGallery for new Vespa Brochure page - CHECK IT. Added page for 64 Brochure, 400, 65 Accessories, 1974 Sales page, tweeked layout and order of pages.CHECK IT. Fixed links pages for Lambretta and Vespa. Created new background image for the Vespa Den.

5.28.07 - Added Asian "restoration" pages, worked on links pages. Edited Lambretta buyers guide.

5.27.07 - Updated contact page with scrambled email address, created stub page for Classifieds, added Sears stub page and link in Buyers Guide. Edited several pages in Vespa buyers guide and worked on welcome pages.

5.25.07 - Cleaned up background scooter image and created favicon.ico image for bookmarks. Implemented .ico code in HEAD on root pages only.

5.24.07 - Created 'What's New' include for use on Vespa and Lambretta homepages. Removed Buyers Guide from all non-guide pages. Applied 1 col design to the rest of the site. Created images for Manuals section. Fixed Vespa and Lambretta Links pages. Added Smallfram stub page.

5.23.07 - Created new 1 column page style (colBig) in both stylesheets and applied to some pages for testing. Implemented no-right-click script. Downloaded videos from YouTube for hosting. Added 2 manuals to the server and appropriate pages.
